The opportunity to share your faith!

Lead someone to Chirst!

Opportunities!

Each year at Speak Out, God works in the lives of high school and university students as they hear about Christ and His love. The students come for a one week conversational English camp on the beautiful Ohrid lake. They know that the American students are Christians, and that we will talk about Christian ideas. Students tell us they appreciate the open and non-threatening environment in which to think about the issues we raise.

During the course of the week, you will tutor between three and seven Macedonian students.

You will spend time with them each day, both formally and informally, sharing your life and the Gospel with them. In the mornings, Macedonian students attend a large morning session. These sessions provide opportunities for them to practice speaking English and learn more about American culture, songs, and slang. This is followed by Speak Out Group where they can discuss their reactions in Macedonian.

Afternoons are ideal for spending quality time with your students. This time could include playing sports together, touring the town,Sweeming at the lake or the hotel pool, or just hanging out. The heart of the day is the tutor time. This is a great time to talk about your life and who you are. Here you are able, in a relaxed way, to share the Gospel with them and get their feedback. During tutor time you can answer questions and invite them to respond by trusting in Christ. These afternoons are your prime opportunity to connect with the students.

In the evenings we will have different activities for the Macedonian students, so you can spend time enjoying the "camp experience" with them. Macedonian students are not used to summer camps done the "American style". It’s a unique opportunity for you to bond with them, sharing your life as well as the Gospel.

The power of the Speak Out experience is seen as the entire week's activities and conversations fit together. We don’t just meet with students, telling them basic points of how to become a Christian. We also spend time with them, sharing our lives so they can see how Jesus Christ has changed who we are. We hang out and talk about the Bible and our beliefs. Macedonian students see in our words and actions just who Jesus Christ is and are captured by His beauty. It's truly a powerful combination!
